Daily Life in Ancient Rome

Event Description:
"Daily Life in Ancient Rome" is a student-produced, two-day event from a number of STEAM disciplines: Marine Biology, Art (Painting), Mechanical Engineering, History, Digital Art, and Bioarchaeology. Students will present/demonstrate their research, all centered on ancient Rome. Two student organizations will also present different aspects of ancient Roman culture and history.

Wednesday, March 20, 2019:
* 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Research displays and presentations by students in History, Marine Biology, Digital Art, Painting, Anthropology and Mechanical Engineering - Location: Commons Auditorium
* 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Individual Student Research Presentations - Location: Commons Auditorium
* 1:30 p.m.: Gladiatorial Re-enactment by UWF Fencing Club - Location: Commons Great Hall
* 3:00 p.m.: Roman Siege Weapon Demonstration by Mechanical Engineering Capstone Students - Location: Intramural Field behind UWF Police Station  
* 5 p.m.: History Club and Phi Alpha Theta Meeting featuring Dr. Greg Aldrete, Reconstructing and Testing Ancient Linen Armor: The UWGB Linothorax Project. Attendance is also free and open to the public - Location: Commons Auditorium   

Thursday, March 21, 2019:
* 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Research displays and presentations by students in History, Marine Biology, Digital Art, Painting, Anthropology and Mechanical Engineering - Location: Commons Auditorium
* 10 a.m.: Research Presentation by Marine Biology students
* 3 p.m.: (Rain Day if necessary) Roman Siege Weapon Demonstration by Mechanical Engineering Capstone Students - Location: Intramural Field behind UWF Police Station
* 4 p.m.: Presentation and Demonstration of Ancient Roman and Renaissance Fresco by students in Interdisciplinary Honors - Location: Commons Auditorium
