Event Description:
Interested in climate change impacts like sea level rise on archaeological and cultural resources? The 2019 Tidally United Summit, hosted by the Florida Public Archaeology Network and the University of West Florida, will engage participants to consider solutions to threats posed by rising sea levels and climate change to heritage sites in Florida and across the globe.

A general schedule of the Summit's events includes:
- Thursday, Aug. 15, at 5:30 p.m.: ArchaeoCafé: Resurrected from the Waves: The Rescue and Reconstruction of a Bronze Age Burnt Mound in Orkney featuring Ellie Graham, SCAPE, University of St. Andrews, Scotland; Location: Perfect Plain Brewery, 50 E Garden St, Pensacola, FL 32502; This event is free and open to the public!

- Friday, Aug. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Tidally United Summit; Location: Museum of Commerce, 201 Zaragoza St, Pensacola, FL 32502; Presentations and panel sessions to take place throughout the day. Coffee and breakfast snacks provided. Lunch break from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Registration fee is $40; student registration fee is $20.

- Friday, Aug. 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Reception at FPAN Coordinating Center; Location: 207 E Main St, Pensacola, FL 32502; Join us at the FPAN Coordinating Center and Destination Archaeology Resource Center for an evening reception! Light hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served. Afterward, head to nearby Palafox Street to join Pensacola's monthly Gallery Night event.

- Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: History, Climate Change, and Resiliency Tour of Gulf Islands National Seashore Fort Pickens Area; Meeting Location: Pensacola Bay Cruises Dock, 750 Commendencia Street Pensacola, FL 32502; Ferry and walking tour led by Gulf Islands National Seashore and FPAN staff. Please indicate attendance on registration. Additional fee for ferry ride is $15 for regular registration, $10 for student registration. Following the tour, participants can self-tour Fort Pickens, ride the ferry to Pensacola Beach for lunch, or continue on the ferry back to downtown Pensacola.
