End Date: 3/3/2017End Time: 6:30 PM

Event Description:
In partnership with STEAM 2017, the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities' Experience UWF Downtown Lecture series presents “Art and Science: Transdisciplinary Collaboration” with Elizabeth Demaray.
Artist Elizabeth Demaray grows lichen on the sides of skyscrapers, designs housing for hermit crabs, and fabricates robotic supports for potted plants. Drawing from the art and science disciplines, Demaray's work offers transformative experiences. Demaray finds parallels in mutualistic biological systems and diversity in transdisciplinary practice. In her talk, Demaray will explore how humanity might adapt to critical contemporary challenges by referencing resilience and interdependence in ecological systems.
The Experience UWF Downtown lecture and STEAM 2017 keynote address will be held at the Pensacola Museum of Art, Friday, March 3. A public reception will be held from 5-5:30pm, and the lecture will be from 5:30- 6:30 pm.
