The Holocaust remembrance event on Tuesday, January 28, at 5 p.m. in the Rolfs Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts (Building 82) will include a series of commemorative activities designed to honor Holocaust survivors and victims and to foster a deeper understanding of this tragic chapter in history. The event will feature a Screening of Saved by Sousa Mendes, a documentary film that tells the moving story of Aristides de Sousa Mendes, a Portuguese diplomat who risked everything to save over 35,000 lives from Nazi persecution. Additional activities include a reading of names of Holocaust victims, a candle-lighting ceremony, and a somber musical performance. Refreshments will also be served.
