America at 250: Civic Republicanism, Economic Freedom and Dynamic Citizenship
About this Event
This symposium focuses on the positive integration of republican virtue with free enterprise as American
dynamism. The American Founding integrated classical republican ideals of civic virtue, self-government, and the common good with the moral and practical insights of economic freedom (property, voluntary exchange, industry). Together they created a commercial republic that affirms individual dignity in a free society.
