#UWFThe 2026–2027 CASSH Scholarship Spotlight series kicks off Wednesday, September 16, with a timely conversation about AI, communication, and the value of the human touch.
Heather Riddell, Professor of Communication, will present Compassionate Human or Sentimental Technology? Crisis Communication and AI Messages, exploring how AI-generated crisis messages compare with real organizational responses—and why human empathy and strategy still matter.
Laura Herbek, Instructor of English, will present Lessons from the Classroom: Building AI Literacy in Workplace Writing, sharing insights from teaching students to use AI thoughtfully and effectively as they prepare for the evolving workplace.
Join us upstairs in the John C. Pace Library Multipurpose Room from noon to 1 p.m. to hear from two perspectives on what it means to communicate effectively in an AI-integrated world.
