Central in Building 76A, Room 102. These sessions explore thought-provoking topics from unique disciplinary perspectives.
How do the dead remain part of our lives? In this interdisciplinary colloquium, we will explore how memory, legacy, culture, and history shape our ongoing relationships with those who have passed. From personal rituals to public memorials, from literature and art to science and philosophy, this colloquium invites students to consider how the presence of the dead informs the living. Whether through grief, celebration, storytelling, or silence, we will examine the many ways people across time and cultures have navigated life with the dead.
