#UWFThis symposium on Friday, August 21, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce explores the positive integration of republican virtue and free enterprise as drivers of American dynamism.
Join us for an evening of conversation, networking, and civic engagement featuring Manny Diaz, Jr, UWF President, and Carlos Diaz-Rosillo, Director, FIU Adam Smith Center. Together, they will discuss Florida’s Civic and Public Policy Centers: Promoting Civic Knowledge and Civil Discourse, sharing insights into the missions and goals of their respective centers and exploring how civic centers can best serve their local communities. The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
Guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and a variety of beverages while connecting with colleagues, community members, President Diaz, and Director Diaz-Rosillo.

Featured Discussion: Florida’s Civic and Public Policy Centers: Promoting Civic Knowledge and Civil Discourse
President Diaz and Director Diaz-Rosillo will highlight the missions and goals of their respective centers and engage in a joint discussion on the role civic centers play in fostering informed citizenship, meaningful dialogue, and community engagement. The session will conclude with a moderated Q&A.
Additional Activities: Attendees are encouraged to explore nearby downtown Pensacola following the program and enjoy Gallery Night, a community celebration featuring live music, local artists, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.
