Join the Office of the President in celebration of America's 250th anniversary on Thursday, March 5, at noon in the University Commons Auditorium (Building 22) on the UWF Pensacola campus.

This lecture, "Rome in Philadelphia: Polybius and the Roman Republic at the American Founding," features Dr. Carl E. “Tripp” Young III as he explores how the political thought of Ancient Rome—particularly the historian Polybius and his account of the Roman Republic—influenced the ideas and institutions of the American Founding. By tracing the founders’ engagement with classical history, the talk sheds light on how ancient models of republican government shaped the constitutional order of the United States.

All are welcome to attend, including UWF faculty, staff, students, and members of the broader community. Lunch will be provided. Register on the UWF America's 250 FL page.
