DESCRIPTION:Under the direction of Dr. Sean Kelley\, the UWF Symphonic Band
  will present "A 20th Century Celebration" featuring wind band masterworks
  written between 1900 and 2000. The program will take place on Sunday\, Oc
 tober 19\, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church\, 75 Fa
 irpoint Drive\, Gulf Breeze\, FL 32561.\n\n \n\nThe program includes the e
 nergetic and effervescent set of variations on Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" en
 titled "Fantasia in G" by Timothy Mahr\; Frank Ticheli's quirky and pointi
 llistic tone poem\, "Postcard to Meadville\, PA"\; Howard Hansen's mid-cen
 tury "Chorale and Alleluia" mixing classicism of form with modernity in ha
 rmonic language\; and\, Ron Nelson's "Courtly Airs and Dances" a charming\
 , fresh take on Medieval\, Renaissance\, and Baroque styles and forms.\n\n
  \n\nClosing the concert will be selections from Percy Grainger's magnum o
 pus\, "Lincolnshire Posy\," which celebrates the history and cultural impo
 rtance of Britain's cherished folk song tradition.
